#PlannerNerd

Hello everybody! I hope you're all enjoying the start of the new school year! I am not typically excited to go back to school but this year I am because I have some really cool classes planned out as well as awesome volunteer opportunities. And of course I couldn't be this excited if I didn't have my Erin Condren planner by my side. To say that I'm obsessed with planning is a bit of an understatement. I didn't want to annoy my friends with planner posts, so I created an Instagram entirely for my planner... pretty sad, I know. I just thought I would share a few pictures of my planner to maybe give you some inspiration to get organized this year! Crafting is such a good outlet and honestly, planning like this really doesn't involve much creativity. I hope you enjoy! If you would like to support my planner Instagram, you can follow me @planwithmaisie :) I hope you all have a wonderful day and I'll talk to you soon.

xoxo,
Maisie

A Goal Without a Plan Is Just a Wish

Hey loves! As mentioned in one of my recent posts, I'm in summer classes, and with school on my mind, as well as school rapidly approaching for some of you, I wanted to talk about planners. Boy do I LOVE my planner! I have one of the Erin Condren Lifeplanners and I'm absolutely in love with it. I love to decorate my planner to the extreme because I've realized that the prettier it is, the more likely I am to look at it and write things down. If any of you are interested in where I get supplies for my planner (Hint: I make most of my own stickers!), leave a comment below and let me know! You can also head on over to my pinterest to view my "Planner Themes/Ideas" board. For now, enjoy these pictures of some of the recent weeks in my planner!

Happy Girls Are the Prettiest

Hey everyone! So I've been so excited to try new makeup looks lately because I recently made a pretty incredible purchase. Last week I ordered the new Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette as well as the Lorac Pro Palette and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in Taupe. I thought that I would try out a few different looks before giving you all my personal opinion. I always thought that the Naked palettes were incredible. And I guess in some aspects they are. However, after finally getting the Lorac Pro palette there really is no comparison to be made. The Lorac Pro is more pigmented, has more shadows, is cheaper, blends more nicely, is less chalky so it lasts longer, I could go on. I really do like the Naked Smoky palette though. The colors are deeper and darker than the other Naked palettes, and most of the shades are either glitter or satin shades. However, they still are very chalky and unless you use a really good base, they basically rub right off. The Lorac Pro on the other hand, lasts all day with just a simple primer and looks amazing all day long. If you take one thing from this post, please just consider getting one of the Lorac Pro palettes over the Naked Palettes. You'll save money and be happier with your purchase in the end. As for the Anastasia Dip Brow, it's amazing, as predicted, and I won't be going back to any of my previously used products. Anyway, love you all, and I'll talk to you very soon. Bye loves. 💋

It's Summer Time and The Feeling's Fine

Hi beauties! I hope you're all thoroughly enjoying your summers, I know I am. I decided to get out of my usual habits for the summer and experience new things. So, I'm in Georgia for the whole summer! It has been so much fun so far and I'm definitely looking forward to my remaining time here. As most of you probably know, Georgia gets very hot and humid during the summer. I don't know about you, but my hair is not a fan of humidity. To keep my frizziness at bay, I've been using the Marvelous Oil Frizz Defy by Garnier Fructis. This stuff is amazing. I only need one pump when I get out of the shower. I apply the bulk of it to my ends and whatever is remaining I will run through my roots to tame any frizz that may be in that area. Using this small of an amount does not make my hair greasy (I've had that problem with moroccan and argan oils) and it makes my hair super shiny and silky smooth. If you guys have tried this leave me a comment letting me know that you think. I really hope you al have an amazing summer, and if you're taking summer classes, I feel your pain! Love you all and I'll talk to you later!

Life Updates

Hello loves. You may be asking yourselves, "where has she been?". To put it simply, I suck at blogging and I'm sorry. I always say I'm going to get better about it then I forget and life gets in the way. I would like to blame it on school or the fact that I've been very sick for the past 2 months, but I did have time and I just neglected my blog entirely. That being said, I wanted to talk about something not so beauty related, which is what I've been doing throughout this past term. As you may or may not know, my goal for the future is to become a kindergarten teacher. To prepare myself for that and get some experience, I did a practicum (which is basically a fancy word for getting credits to volunteer in a classroom) in a kindergarten classroom. It was probably one of the best experiences of my life. I spent almost 100 hours with these kids throughout a 7-week period and it was awesome. So...yeah, that's what I've been up to. Please please PLEASE, let me know what you would like me to post about in the future and I'll talk to you later.

Fashion Trend: Ripped Jeans

Hey everyone! With summer quickly approaching and spring in full swing, I thought I would share my staple clothing item for this season: ripped jeans, and how I like to style them. In Oregon, it stays in the upper 50's to 60's most of the time, so since it's not particularly warm, jeans are a must have item. My favorite pair right now are these ones from American Eagle Outfitters.
I personally like to cuff mine and pair them with a pair of converse (usually red or white, but sometimes black) and a flowy top like this one from rainbowshops.com (which by the way is only $7.99):
These jeggings are super stretchy so they're really comfortable and can be dressed up or down. If I want to dress these jeggings up I swap out the converse for a pair of black ankle booties like these ones from target:
Leave a comment telling me your favorite staple item for this season and let me know what you would like to see next!
