My Makeup Obsession

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I've been lacking in the makeup department recently because being a broke college student, it's difficult experimenting with makeup being that it gets expensive. However, I've been obsessing over my naked 3 palette. I've always loved the palette, but I sometimes find the colors difficult for me to wear because they're very warm toned and pink based, and I have a lot of pink pigment in my skin. But if you guys would like me to do a step by step on my everyday makeup using the palette, I can certainly do that. I'm currently really excited because I'm ombréing my hair next Saturday and I'm crossing my fingers that it turns out well. In other completely unrelated news, have you guys watched One Tree Hill? It's on Netflix and I'm obsessed with it. There are nine seasons and im already almost done with it all. So as mentioned before, I really hope you're all doing well and I'll talk to you very soon.

Where'd You Go? I Missed You So!

Hey beauties! As most of you know, I'm in college which means I've been very busy in the recent weeks. I'm so sorry that I haven't been putting much time or effort into my blog, but I really do care about this blog and everyone who reads it! As part of being a college student, I haven't had much money or time to practice different looks. That being said, I have a for to ask you. What kinds of posts would you like to see? Please leave a comment and let me know :) Also as I've mentioned before I'm in a sorority (Chi Omega) and we work very hard to raise money for Make-A-Wish foundation. If you're in the Oregon area feel free to sign up for our color fun run to raise money for kids with life threatening diseases! You can register (or if you would rather just donate) at colormechio.com. Thank you for reading my spiel and I'll talk to you all later!

You Get What You Give

Hey everyone! So I'm assuming you have all heard of the insanely popular ice bucket challenge that raises awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. This disease affects your motor neurons causing you to loose control of you muscles which can lead to paralysis. Although there are many critics of the ice bucket challenge, there is a reason behind it. When you pour ice cold water on yourself you momentarily loose control of your muscles. This is how people with Lou Gehrig's Disease feel all the time. The ALS Association has been doing some great research and I wanted to do everything I could to support them. The ice bucket challenge has helped raise over $10 million for the ALS Association so the least I could do was donate some money and pour some water on myself. I know not everyone has the means to donate but I just though you all should know what this challenge is actually benefiting. Anyway, if you are able to donate, the website is alsa.org and I'll be sure to post my video below for you all to enjoy. I hope you're all having a wonderful summer and I'll talk to you soon!

Whatever Happens, Life Goes On

Hey everyone! I thought I would do a little update on where I've been, products I'm loving, and what I've been doing with my summer. To say that 2014 has been a tough year is an understatement. It was a very difficult year for me and I was so excited for summer to come. I had gotten accepted to study abroad in London for a month during August but that unfortunately isn't working out which put a big damper on my mood. Then I decided to put that behind me and go on a little vacation with some of my friends and ended up spraining my ankle really badly so I've been on crutches for the last week and a half. This had been really frustrating because not only does it make doing fun things with friends difficult if not impossible (crutches are very painful if you didn't know) but it's also made working difficult, which has caused some financial stress. The good news is I'm going to the doctor on Tuesday to hopefully get some help with my ongoing back injury and also find out when I'll be able to walk. So basically long story short I'm very clumsy and need to learn how to walk ;)

In other news, being at home a lot has given me the chance to experiment with makeup and different beauty products. I've also been watching a ton of Youtube videos and finding inspiration for things to make for my new house that I'll be moving into in September with my friends! I'm going to insert some pictures of my fourth of July makeup and some other looks I've experimented with and as always, if you have any questions regarding products used or requests for upcoming blogs then leave me comments and I'll talk to you later! XOXO

My Lip Gloss is Poppin'

Hey everyone! So I know I say this a lot, but I'm so sorry I've been MIA for a while. Going to school full time is obviously my first priority and I was very consumed with my studies as well as my sorority. That being said, now that I'm on summer break I'm going to work really hard to make this blog be a top priority and give you more beauty tips and reviews than you could possibly need! So to kick off summer, I thought I would tell you all about my go-to lip products. I'm a sucker for bright, yet natural looking lips. Nudes are a little too plain for me and reds and dark purples are a little out of my comfort zone, so I tend to stick with hot pinks. And this time, I think I found my favorite combination. As always, you want to start out with smooth lips, so I like to use the Nivea Lip Butter in Caramel Cream Kiss. This smells amazing and is super moisturizing! Then I go in with my Sonia Kashuk Lip Definer pencil in number 15 Hibiscus. This lip liner is a bright cool toned pink that goes on super smoothly and goes well with every skin tone. I outline my lips with this pencil and then fill them in. This by itself looks beautiful, but to make it a little shiny, I use my NYX Butter Gloss in BLG18 Cupcake. It's a cool toned bright coral color that goes perfectly over the lip liner (and it smells like frosting!). This lip combination is so beautiful yet simple and I always get tons of compliments on it! If you have any questions or requests for upcoming blog posts, leave a comment below and I'll talk you y'all later!

I'm Only Human, and I Bleed When I Fall Down

Hey everyone! Recently I've been listening to a song that has probably some of the best lyrics I've heard in a while. It's called "Human" by Christina Perri and it's amazing. I've been working a lot lately on self confidence, as we all have things that we struggle with, but I've come to realize that at the end of the day, it's not about how others see you or what they think about your decisions, its about you and how you want to live your life. I've also been watching the Dove Real Beauty commercials on YouTube. Obviously I love makeup. I believe it can transform people, but it's also a creative outlet. That being said, you by no means need to wear makeup to feel beautiful or try to look like models to feel prettier because guess what. Even those models don't look the way they do in magazines and on billboards. I think it can be hard, especially when you love makeup as much as I do, to appreciate everything that's beautiful about every individual. I know this was kind of rambly, I just want to all to remember how beautiful you are. It can be easy to forget and let other people's words bring you down, but the courage and confidence that it takes to build yourself back up will only make you more stronger and even more radiant. I love you all and I'll talk to you very soon.

Wake Up, Flawless

Hey everyone! As promised, I am finally doing another review. I wanted to do a tutorial on how I apply the foundation I'm going to be talking about, but seeing as though I don't have a descent camera, a review will have to suffice. For the last few months I have been loving the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation. My color is in 310 Classic Ivory for reference. This foundation is amazing. It has the perfect amount of coverage for my skin and blends so smoothly. I also love the fact that it's a liquid when you put it on, but once it dries it turns into more of a powder. I know many people probably wouldn't like this effect, but I think it looks so natural and flawless. That being said, while I don't have perfect skin, my problem areas are small. My biggest issue when it comes to my skin is redness, and this foundation helps dull that so effortlessly. If you are someone who suffers from acne or acne scarring, I would suggest using a more full coverage concealer under this foundation if you want airbrushed skin. This foundation is a bit pricy for drugstore foundation, but it's still very affordable, ranging from $8-12. That's pretty much all I have to say about this product, but let me know what you think if you try it out and I'll talk to you later!

Where Have I Been?

Hey everyone! I want to just post quickly to let you all know what's been going on and why I've been so busy. I'm currently working on a review, but for now I just wanted to chat. My last post was almost two months ago which is insane because it feels like it was just last week! As you probably all know by now, I'm in school and my living situation changed at the beginning of winter term. Not only did I move home, but I changed schools for the term. This situation was supposed to be until the fall, but one thing led to another, and now I'm back at the university I was originally enrolled in and am back to living in my sorority. That being said, a lot has happened, it's been an emotional few months, but I'm back where I belong and couldn't be happier. I hope you all understand that, being in college, I can't post as often as I would like to, but I'm working on making my blog a higher priority. Obviously, school comes first, but you matter to me too. Anyway, I hope you're all enjoying spring term/second semester so far and I'll talk to you later! Love you!

I Tried To Be A Picture Perfect Girl

Hey everyone! So I am super excited because a couple of days ago I went to Sephora with the intent of buying my favorite St. Tropez self tanner because mine is almost gone, but I ended up looking around a little bit more before deciding and I changed my mind and went a little outside my comfort zone. I ended up purchasing the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette! I have wanted the original naked palette for sooooo long, but I already have the BH Cosmetics 88 Neutrals palette and many other small neutral palettes and singles, so I decided to go a little crazy and get the more pink toned neutrals! (I know it's so crazy) <- sarcasm. But I absolutely love this palette. When it first came out I thought it was gorgeous but didn't really think I would ever use it, but now I've been using it everyday and I'm just overall very happy with my purchase. If you guys would like a tutorial on a look using this palette just let me know. Now I know that this is a little off topic, but I just thought I should mention that next time I get out to the mall, I am definitely going to buy MAC's lipstick in Rebel. It's such a gorgeous color but, once again, is a bit out of my comfort zone, but I want to make it work! So, that being said, if you have any requests for upcoming posts just let me know. I' thinking of starting to make videos soon, but I've tried out a few different cameras and just wasn't very happy with the quality of the video as well as my unbelievable awkwardness. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed and I'll talk to you later!

Imperfection Is Beauty

Hey everyone! Happy Superbowl Sunday! (Go Seahawks!) I hope you're all doing well! I don't know about you, but I have midterms this week so that's stressful, but at least I have you guys to keep me calm :) Anyway.. I wanted to talk to you guys about eating habits. Now I for one love food. Especially food that's not so good for you like pizza and french fries. However, for about three years now I have suffered from migraines. At first I thought they were due to stress, but considering the fact that I haven't been very stressed lately yet I'm still getting them, kind of rules that one out. I've tried doing relaxation techniques but they don't really work for me, so that left me with two more options. I could go on medication (which I didn't want to do), or I could try the anti-inflammatory diet. So, I'm now on a very strict diet that, even though the foods are limited, has left me feeling really good. It's a gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, caffeine-free, sugar substitute-free, low sodium diet. So basically I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, almond butter, sugar-free granola, almond milk, and things like that. That being said, I am not on this diet to loose weight, although it's a bonus, and I want you all to know that you don't have to be slim to be beautiful. Everyone is built differently and that's what makes us unique, so embrace it and, from the wise words of Oscar Wilde, "Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."

The Hunt Is On!

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well! I wanted to just make a quick post to tell you about an app that I'm currently obsessed with! It's called The Hunt, and basically you can upload a picture of something you've been looking for and other people using the app will try to locate it for you! It's so much fun to also help others find what they're looking for! (especially makeup ;) ). Well that's pretty much all I had to talk about today, but as always, please please please leave me requests in either the comments or you can email me and I'll talk to you later!

You're All I Adore

Hello everyone! First off, I know I say this all the time but thank you again for helping me reach over 1500 page views. You guys are amazing! I hope you're all doing well! So recently I can't stop thinking about makeup. I mean that's pretty typical for me, but its been so bad lately that it's pretty much all I think about, (other than school of course). I got a Sephora gift card for Christmas and have no idea what to get! There are so many things I want! Do I get the Naked palette? (the original because it's my fav) Or do I get Benefit Hoola bronzer? Too Faced Chocolate Solei bronzer? New brushes? I don't know! So now you understand why it's been weighing heavily on me. I mean it's a very important thing for me to be spending my time obsessing over ;) But anyways, if you have any other suggestions of products I should try, leave a comment or send me a message and I'll talk to you later!

Just Keep Me Up Where the Light Is

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a fantastic week. Most of you are probably back at school like myself, which may or may not be a positive thing but I like to look at all things on the bright side! I hope your breaks all went well!  Today I learned how to crochet which was really exciting because now I can make headbands and what not. I'm going to try to make an infinity scarf and possibly a blanket but for now that's all a little too advanced. No onto the main point of my rambling. I wanted to thank you guys so much for looking at my blog! I reached another thousand which brings me up to 1400. When I first started this blog I honestly didn't think I would get over 100 page views, so when I reached 1000 it was such an amazing feeling and I really can't thank you enough for your support. That being said, I would really appreciate any feedback that you have or requests for new posts or just hearing from you to say you're enjoying my posts! I love you all to Pluto and back and I will talk to you soon!
(I just had to throw this little gem in here ;) )
